Q1. Why do we need to separate different components of a mixture? Give two examples.

Q2. “Handpicking is convenient in some situations and cumbersome in others.” Justify.

Q3. You are provided with a mixture of sand and saw dust. Compare the particle sizes in the mixture. Is it possible to separate the components by handpicking? If not, explain how the two components can be separated.

Q4. Explain the method used by farmers to separate grain seeds from bundles of stalks.
